@Inoitspointless Well said my friend. Well said. The only ones I can even think of are church mothers near to trust more than most. Heh. There has to be a good number of people, able to also flex their rights to protect and whatnot. The wide-range equal voiced rule is a must indeed. It keeps those viruses from ever entering, and there wouldn’t be seperate ‘parties’ trying to dissect one another. Simple, clean and clear motives.
The poor could created a fund in every city to build, run and own academies. Imagine a central basketball court with offshoot rooms for a boxing gym, a recording suite, car mechanics classes, business classes whatever the people decide. With collective action something could be done. Any successful musicians, sportsmen or businessmen coming out of the academy could be asked to give something back to maintain the place and keep entry prices low for poor people who used the facilities.
I think there are community minded professionals who would be willing to give their services for free to help with the legal aspects of setting up such a thing. Of course, regular meetings would be held for ALL contributors to have a voice. An EQUAL voice. There’s no big chief who makes all the decisions or sets all the agendas. Of course vultures might try to muscle in, but it’s not difficult to expose them and send them packing so long as EVERY decision is open, transparent, and scrutinised.
Well there is a model for this kind of thing which was successful in the past. It was called THE COOPERATIVE movement. They even ended up with their own Cooperative building society. Everyone’s heard of the Co=op.
I won’t bore you with details but they are available and there are checks and balances that can be put in place to make sure that savers can keep their eyes on things. The movement can train locally trusted reps to understand book-keeping and report back.
@Inoitspointless wow. that’s actually something. I never really thought of it like that. But the way things are, it’ll be impossible to trust anyone to even a dollar. It’d be nice to give away each year these savings, but there has to be someone trustworthy holding it, WITH NO FREAKING TAXES OR CREDIT. Just humanitarian and philanthropic belief system and a building that is well protected and non-profitable. There has to be lists to give to individuals and shelters each year. And no early giving
If all those on the famous million man march each saved $5 per week that’s 52x5x1,000,000 = $260,000,000 in a year. Of course $10 per week doubles that. If the people were genuinely interested in community and helping youth, they could do that. Poor people in the developed world are not helpless. They are just fragmented and misled. Why not start your own savings bank to fund community projects?
